Throughout October, we'll be putting our paws to the pavement for a great cause. Seven members of Team Eyeweb will be ditching their desks to walk a virtual 1000-mile-long route, raising funds for Hull Animal Welfare Trust.
We've dubbed the challenge Walkies for Welfare – a fur-middable month-long event that we hope will help out a brilliant local charity. Our journey will take us through some of the punniest, pet-themed places like Caton, Woofferton, Labrador Bay, Pawlett and more.
Paul Scott, Eyeweb's Managing Director, said: "As pet parents ourselves, Hull Animal Welfare Trust holds a special place in our hearts. Walkies for Welfare is a great way for us to push ourselves and get active while helping a charity continue its incredible work. We're excited to give something back to our community."
Through Walkies for Welfare, we're hoping to raise £1000, a sum that would pay for Hull Animal Welfare Trust to feed all their animals for a whole month.
Why Hull Animal Welfare Trust?
If there's one thing we all have in common at Eyeweb, it's that we're huge animal lovers. We spoil the socks off our own furballs, but there are pets all over Hull still waiting for their forever home.
Hull Animal Welfare Trust has been active since 1982 and has since rehomed over 30,000 abandoned and mistreated animals. The charity relies solely on donations from the public to stay up and running, receiving zero government or official funding support.
"We really appreciate the team at Eyeweb for doing this fundraiser to help the animals in our care." Said Natalie Rhodes of Hull Animal Welfare Trust. "Times are very tough currently, and we cannot thank them enough for choosing to support us."
With basic costs for their cats and dogs totalling over £8000 a month, fundraisers are incredibly important to their continued survival.
